Cotswolds retreat

I’ve been wanting to go somewhere relaxed recently and get away from familiar surroundings. After looking on Airbnb for a little while, there was so much choice from cabins in the woods to houses in the middle of nowhere.

I ended up finding a converted studio in the Cotswolds the winner. It had everything, a modern and stylish self contained studio with all the mod cons and a fully equipped kitchen, nestled in the countryside, close to nature and a small town.

The Cotswolds

The journey was lovely and the sat nav took us through all these long and winding country roads which was nice. When we arrived, we felt like excited kids as everything about the place was so inviting and different.

We booked 3 nights and weather was mainly grey with a bit of rain here and there, but it didn’t seem to matter at all, we even had one meal outside which was nice. The hosts were so helpful, friendly and kind – they even had a dog called Bella that would pop by and chill with us.

The local town of Nailsworth was really sweet and had everything we needed (the best meal we had was in a pub called the Britannia) and on the walk to Nailsworth was a trout farm you could walk through which was really interesting and looked lovely when the sun came out. There are also plenty of cafe’s and independent shops to check out.

We will most certainly be back to experience this little nook in the county again, even to get away on the weekend for a couple of nights. It felt like a little retreat being tucked away in nature and away from busy roads, cars and noise.

I would highly recommend this place to anyone!
